Oceanico Golf Ladies Week 2010
08/11/2010 - Oceânico Golf Ladies Week a resounding success
November 8th, 2010 – Oceanico, owners of seven golf courses in the Algarve including the Oceanico Victoria - host venue to the European Tour’s Portugal Masters, has announced the success of its innovative Oceanico Golf Ladies Week. An international field of varying handicaps and ages gathered at the resort for the four-day event specifically designed for Ladies, including golf on the highly-acclaimed Oceanico Pinhal and Oceanico Victoria courses, golf clinics, and 3 nights accommodation at the stunning 5-star Hotel Tivoli Victoria.
With both nett and gross prizes up for grabs, all competitors had something to play for; but it was 8-handicapper Barbara Neto-Bradley from Miramar who rose to the occasion, winning a tightly contested gross competition by 2 strokes from overnight leader Julie Moore. In the nett event 32-handicapper Gunilla Smith of Verdegolf became its first-ever champion in convincing fashion, finishing 5 strokes clear of the field thanks to a 36-hole aggregate score of 75 stableford points.
‘It’s been a fun few days here at Oceanico Golf Ladies Week, with attendees taking full advantage of not only the great course conditions but the luxurious amenities around the resort,’ commented Chris Stilwell, CEO of Oceanico Golf. ‘With beauty treatments, professional make-up workshop, boat trips and shopping available, plus a gala dinner at the Vilamoura Casino on the Saturday night, there was plenty to keep the guests occupied off the course. With nothing but positive feedback from the competitors; we are thoroughly looking forward to the future success of this event in 2011.’
